Switching doors doubles your odds, and almost nobody believes it
Professional mathematicians wrote in to say it was wrong. It was not.
In the Monty Hall problem, you pick one of three doors, the host opens a different door revealing a goat, and offers a switch. Switching wins two times in three, because your original pick was right only one time in three and the host’s knowledge is doing work. When published in 1990, thousands wrote to object, including many with doctorates.
