Fact
You cannot tickle yourself
The reason is the same reason you can catch a ball.
The cerebellum predicts the sensory consequences of your own movements and cancels them out, so self-generated touch feels muted. Interpose a short delay or a change of direction with a machine and the tickle comes back. The same prediction system is what lets you track a moving object and act on where it will be.
