Fact
Our galaxy is falling toward something we cannot see
They named it the Great Attractor. It sits behind the Milky Way's own disc.
The Local Group is moving at hundreds of kilometres per second toward a gravitational focus in the direction of Centaurus. Our view of it is blocked by the plane of our own galaxy – the Zone of Avoidance. It is now understood as part of Laniakea, a supercluster containing around 100,000 galaxies, mapped in 2014.
