By force relative to size, the masseter wins.
Measured by force exerted for its weight, the masseter – the muscle that closes the jaw – is the strongest, capable of generating bite forces of several hundred newtons on the molars. Other muscles win on other definitions: the gluteus maximus is largest, the heart does the most total work.
