A day on Venus is longer than its year
The planet turns so slowly that it laps its own calendar.
Venus takes about 243 Earth days to rotate once and about 225 to orbit the Sun. It also spins backwards relative to almost every other planet, so on Venus the Sun would rise in the west – if you could see it through the clouds. The likely cause is a colossal ancient impact or tidal effects from its thick atmosphere.
