Elephants cannot jump

There is no moment when all four feet leave the ground, ever.

Their weight, leg bone structure and lack of the springy tendons found in smaller mammals make jumping mechanically impossible. Even at top speed, elephants keep at least one foot in contact with the ground – technically a fast walk rather than a run, though the gait is unusual.
