The Great Wall of China is not visible from space
It is long, but it is only a few metres wide and the same colour as the ground.
Astronauts have consistently reported being unable to see the wall with the naked eye from orbit. Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei confirmed he could not see it. Width, not length, determines visibility – and roads and airports are far easier to pick out. The myth predates spaceflight entirely.
