Woolly mammoths were still alive when the pyramids were built
A surviving population on a Siberian island outlasted them by centuries.
Mainland mammoths died out around 10,000 years ago, but an isolated population survived on Wrangel Island until roughly 4,000 years ago. The Great Pyramid was finished around 4,500 years ago. For several centuries, both existed at the same time.
